Frankfurt Undercover:
The Authors’ Lounge

Frankfurt Undercover

As one of the largest international trading places and cultural events worldwide, the Frankfurt Book Fair has long maintained an ardent commitment to the idea of crossing borders and creating a ‘Global City of Ideas’. The new ‘Frankfurt Undercover’ debates add to these existing activities, aiming to bring some of the most imaginative literary minds together to contemplate current global political affairs.

For the ‘Frankfurt Undercover’ project this year, Danish writer Janne Teller and the Frankfurt Book Fair will host a series of three debates. In the secluded space of the Authors’ Lounge, a select group of eminent authors and intellectuals will meet behind closed doors to help move the world’s thinking, and to contribute to a ‘Compendium of Thoughts’ – a collection of ideas that negotiate the problems of our times, which will subsequently be presented to global political leaders and the public.

The Authors’ Lounge: A Place Just for Authors

Frankfurt Book Fair has long been a place where authors gather from all over the world. For the second year, the Book Fair offers authors their own private retreat and meeting place away from the hustle and bustle of the press and the exhibition floor. The Authors’ Lounge offers a place for authors to take a break and recharge their batteries between readings and book signings, discussion panels and book launches.

The Authors’ Lounge is for authors only – it is not open to publishers, journalists, or other Book Fair attendees.
